By a decision of the Multi-member Court of First Instance of Kozani, a farmer who had taken out loans from the former Agricultural Bank of Greece (ATE) was vindicated.
Although the bank initially declared in 2004 that these loans were not affected by the law on compound interest, in 2005, through a supplementary act, it asked the borrower to acknowledge and sign a ten-year settlement of the total allegedly outstanding loans.
